My man and I (25 & 21) are wanting to go down south and he's currently in Georgia and loving it. We're wanting to move down and I'm curious about if southern Georgia is what we want.

I like new things. Period. And the outdoors.

He LOVES the outdoors. He loves fishing and hunting and cooking out and exploring woods and nature and life. He's a big outdoor guy.

Hearing a lot about the heat. Should I be worried?

We have been told Georgia (and he told me from his work) is very diverse in its landscape.

Any tips or things or stories or advice would be appreciated!!! Thanks! =)

I've read through your old posts and have noticed you've asked the same general questions for a number of states. Here's my one suggestion for our coastal Georgia region: Statesboro.

It's a smallish city surrounded by rural land. it's relatively inexpensive, there's a big university, and is located near enough to the Georgia Ports to keep your boyfriend employed for a long time.

It gets just as hot in Illinois as it does down here, but it lasts much longer. You'll be fine.

Thank you so much =) Yeah, we've been attempting to move down South a few times, but this time its for reals. The University is fantastic as I'll be getting my Associates in May and need a bigger school to continue my education. We're now not certain where we're going to head in Georgia, but somewhere for certain lol

If you are concerned about the heat, you would do well to visit during the summer. "It's not the heat, it's the humidity" is a very real thing here. The heat index goes over 100 degrees day after day after day. Sweat does not evaporate. It just runs down your arms, legs, everywhere!! It really does take some adjustment. Most of us just stay inside as much as possible.

North Georgia, with it's mountains and cooler temps, might be a better fit for you. We have the marshes and swamps. Entirely different things for the outdoorsman.
