Is Savannah like living in Atlanta? I mean, is it a big city? She can live in the suburbs of Savannah and be 15+ minutes away and still have conveniences, yes? She doesn't have to live IN Savannah. Thanks. I will contact a realtor.

One more word of explanation. Savannah (the City) is somewhat small by some standards. It can't grow to the North because of the River and the State of South Carolina, on the west, there are towns like Pooler and Garden City, on the east, Thunderbolt and more River. These small little towns would be considered The Suburbs in some places. They even share the same city limits signs. but they have mayors and city charters. On the South is the rest of Chatham County which makes up the Savannah Metro area, and it doesn't want to be taken into the city limits. All of this is under the umbrella of "Savannah"

So back to our original advice. your friend needs to get a realtor.

Based on the number of people who've moved here recently from NYC, something must be going on. Nothing against them, but we don't need a larger population. Traffic's getting terrible.

** WARNING ** ** WARNING ** ** WARNING ** ** WARNING ** ** WARNING **

If anyone would enjoy some time off for bad behavior, then please do keep it up. There is no excuse for the snowball that went down the hill on this one.

If someone comes into the room and asks a question, then answer it if you can. If you feel their questions are silly or "stupid", that's fine - but keep those opinions to yourself and do not tell them so in the room. As the question "asker", responding to such comments with some of your own adds wood to the fire, and we see now where it takes the conversation level. Stop filling the toilet up folks - or it's going to get flushed.

Back to the topic please. Now. Thank you.

Thanks everyone for the info. We have found a realtor so I don't think I will need anymore info. You have been helpful and my friend looks forward to visiting Savannah.

Honestly, I think you are being overly touchy on this one.
