Default Quick, which restaurant would you choose?

It's our anniversary today, and DH and I are choosing a restaurant for dinner. We want it to be worth the money, and one we have not been to before.
Alligator Soul, 17Hundred90, Sapphire Grill, or other?

Whichever one has an open table at the time you want to eat. In other words, you won't go wrong with any -- tho' 1790 gets lower cleanliness ratings.

1790 is the most romantic of the three IMO .. if romance is what you're looking for. The other two are kinda loud and in the thick of things.

We went to Alligator Soul. The cozy factor was just fine, Newsboy...brick, and dim lights, sort of like 1790. It was OK, but probably wouldn't go there again, for the following reasons.
Our very eager waiter was very attentive, to the point that I wanted to tell him to just leave us alone.
I thought the choices on the menu were very limited...one fish.
They brought the salads before we had finished our drinks, which I hate, and which is very stupid on a server's part, since keeping the cocktails flowing is a big money maker.
It was way too expensive for what we got (yes, I know the ambiance and overhead is factored in, yada, yada).
I will say that the dessert we had was super awesome, and I would go back for that.
Maybe we are very jaded, but we have not been wowed at any restaurant in Savanannah yet.

Not even The Lady & Sons?!

You really should try ELE if you haven't already. Local 11 Ten is also very good (they say).

LOL.
We have been to ELE, and it has been the best restaurant we've been to here, so far. DH had a fish, caught that morning, and presented beautifully, and I had the most gorgeous sushi roll ever. The interior is very beautiful too.

I hope they killed that fish before they served it to you?

LOL
Actually, the fish was whole, and had been battered and deep fried in an "S" shape. as if it were swimming. Quite a striking presentation.
