Default Drought Conditions

So terrible to see the severe drought conditions that persist in the
Southeast.
How does this seem to be effecting the every-day citizen of Savannah and surrounding areas?
Also, has it been hotter than usual for the same prolonged period of time?
I can't always tell how accurate the weather channels are.
Would love to hear from someone really lives with it everyday.

It has been an unusual summer, actually, the last couple of years have been weird. I don't think it was any hotter, but it was a lot less humid and dryer so that it didn't seem so bad. I don't think we had as many days where the heat index was in the triple digits. That's when it's so terrible. But it was dry, no doubt about that. Those living on the east side of the city, did seem to get a little more rain from the few showers that came off the ocean. We could have used a lot more. Thankfully, we aren't as badly off as some of the areas of Georgia.

We were expecting a lot of rain yesterday, but it split and half of the system went out to sea, and the other half went inland. Rats!!! We got very little.

Did I say it was dry?? The only thing good has been that the mold and mildew levels don't seem to be as bad as when it is so humid. The fall weed crop doesn't seem to be as lush either so maybe the hayfever season will be better.

Thanks for asking!!
