Default Info on Ardsley Park

I just finished another Savannah visit to look at properties in the Ardsley Park vicinity and I have a couple of questions for any Ardsley/Midtown residents out there.

1. I noticed a few cars parked along the curbs (in streets from 50's to the 60's). The houses have garages and off-street parking, but some houses have space for only 1 car. Street parking doesn't seem to be a problem during the day - but is anyone allowed to park on the streets after dark? I know some towns in NJ that are OK with daytime parking, but don't allow nighttime parking on the street unless you get prior clearance from the local police dept. - is Ardsley like that too?

2. I also see the Ardsley area has an on-going drainage project underway. It seems the work going on now is a bit south and east of my target area. Any idea how close to completion the overall project is?

Thanks in advance.

they expect the new bridge over the drainage canal to be finished in about 18 months.

The only time you can't...make that shouldn't....park at night is at the time posted on signs telling the street sweeping schedule.

There's no street sweeping in ardsley park so parking on the streets at night is fine!

Yes there is street sweeping in Ardsley. I lived there for 5 years before returning to Huntsville, AL in summer of 2006. I lived on 48th near Waters Ave. However, there are no parking restrictions. They simply sweep around your car.

I thought that drainage project was just about done. It was a real mess on my block for about a year.

No, this is a new problem, it's that little bridge over a drainage canal on Waters. It has had to be repalced. Let's face it......the city is beginning to show it's age in spots. Some of these little bridges have been up for eons. I hope they widen it while they are messing around with it.

There's no way to tell when the entire drainage project will be finished. It has been a mess, hasn't it!! But it certainly needed to be done. At times, it must have seemed as if we were the Netherlands and needed more dikes.
