Hi, everyone!
We are coming down from Baltimore to Savannah (to see my in-laws) and on to Kingsland for a family reunion over Thanksgiving. My golden retriever is a rescue from Hurricane Katrina, and has been shuffled from shelter to shelter and foster home to foster home and needless to say, boarding him really stresses him out. (and me!) If we board him up here, it will be for 8 days, so I was hoping to bring him with us. That way, I'll only have to board him for the Kingsland portion for probably 2-3 days. It's a long car ride for him, but better than feeling abandoned in a cage somewhere. Does anyone have a good vet who boards they'd recommend? Or a nice kennel they'd recommend? I've googled and basically get yellow page stuff, which doesn't tell me much. Thanks very much, Kim |

someone posted this link to one of my dog questions and it has more links to places that are dog friendly, maybe you don't have to board your dog.
About the Savannah Dog Park Check out the forum on this page.. it links you to some pet sitting services and kennels even though the posts are a little old. Did you try craigslist.org for Savannah? A vet kennel is about as bad as a dog pound imho, and we also have a rescue pup and I wouldn't let her stay in one of those. But there might be a good one... who knows. We don't leave our dogs alone at night and so I wouldn't want to do that at a Vet boarder either. |

I know, I'm not too excited about the vet boarding, either.
Craigslist is a great idea! I've also emailed the humane society and local golden rescue for ideas. Thanks again! |
