Canadians moving to Georgia (Rincon vs. Richmond Hill?)
Hi!
My husband and I are considering a move to the Savannah area if he gets the job offer we are hoping for. Initially we were told that Rincon was the better area with the better schools (Effingham county) but after reading the threads on this site, it seems like more people think Richmond Hill is the nicer area. Can anyone tell me the main differences and pros/cons? I keep reading that Rincon is growing too quickly and the traffic is bad. Coming from the Toronto area, we are used to extremely bad traffic so I'm wondering how it compares. I also read on one thread that people in Rincon don't take well to northerners....I personally can't see this being true so I wasn't sure if I should believe it or not.
Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks from Canada!

Richmond Hill is majority Newcomers and on the marsh
Rincon still is majority Old South and west of Savannah proper
It really depends which group is more for you
If your children need advanced courses many parents send their children to certain Savannah Public schools

Are there any reasons that you would recommend Richmond Hill? We are visiting this weekend so I guess I will see for myself but it always helps to get advice from people who live in the area. I noticed that the homes in Richmond Hill are more expensive than Rincon....higher house prices usually mean nicer neighbourhood.

If by saying "menace" you mean the people who don't support new people (wherever they're from) in our community, then yes..
otherwise, show some respect for our fellow Canadians to the north!
