Word on the street is that Moon River Studios has been sold. Good riddance to bad rubbish, hopefully.
*edit* Ugh. It's just more shenanigans - and it's not Moon River, it's Shapiro's spin-off holding company.

It won't be long before Effingham will have a need to hire a "Master of the Flow Charts". This individual will be charged with the duty of following the money. Who owns what? Who owes us the debt? Do we still own the property? You know, silly little things like that before you realize you lost the property and it will take ten years of litigation to even think you stand a chance ofgetting it back.

This whole thing reminds of two things: The game of three card monte. Shuffle and then guess which of the 3 cards is the card or the fabulous comedy routine of the Costellos "who's on first?"

Surely, it is, since that's who the deal is now through. They lost the Vanished: Next Generation project, with the production company saying the studio wasn't ready to handle it. So, that wouldn't bode well for a new project. Maybe that's the reason for the new entity... Either way, it would help if they had any idea what they were doing, or if they were serious about bringing in some industry veterans who could help them understand this stuff.

No, that's not "bringing in an industry veteran." More like "working as a tax shelter for Penny Marshall's production company." The entire reason that Penny Marshall is at all interested in bringing any project to Georgia is because of the generous tax credits available here, coupled with what appears to be a qualified studio operating under the auspices and blessings of an eager industrial authority.

Couple that with the eagerness of such a studio to work her in on what are probably less than stellar budgeted projects, and you have a recipe for her interest. I can only imagine that all of the other major studios around Atlanta are just about maxed out on schedule at the moment, as strong incentives continue to be signaled by state government officials, and such studios are growing their talent base and capabilities.

She's not coming here to join their management team. Make no mistake about that.
