I heard from a friend (because I'm out of town) that Chipotle had their grand opening on Wednesday and the whole Victory Drive / Truman intersection was a cluster**** once again due to the mad rush of people who just HAD to be the first in line -- just like neighboring Whole Foods, Chick-fil-A etc.

I absolutely DO NOT and NEVER WILL understand this mindset ... first off, it's a freakin BURRITO stand for crow's sake! But mainly, why would people WANT (or feel the need) to be the first patrons at a new business when it opens the doors? You're making yourself available to all kinds of disappointments -- crowds, slow service, screwed up orders, etc. Isn't it much more sensible to wait a few days for the staff to get the kinks out and then go try it?

Seriously ... you will NEVER see me at the "grand opening" of anything ... SERIOUSLY! It's just stupid.

I agree. I used to eat at chipotle regularly and like it slightly more than Moes. But that's all it is.

Maybe deep down, despite all the sophisticated trappings, it's still "Slo-vannah" after all?

The manager ushered us out of line saying they were "at full capacity," and that we would have to wait outside. Needless to say, we took off and enjoyed a meal at another establishment.
