B's Cracklin BBQ has been named one of the top 50 BBQ joints in the South. Not bad for a restaurant that's been only eight months. Savannah is truly becoming a foodie city....

Re: 'The culture of Savannah and Charleston is going strong'

If our visit is an indication we can see that it is alive and stewarded well. We are glad for that. We would think that takes alot of hard work. And both cities in our estimation are up to it in dealing with their future development. It looks like the energy is there.

We think there's much to be said for 'tradition' and a reverence for what went before. It is important to be aware of that because by understanding the past it then helps knowing where to go for the future.

We don't know if the area may be our home later on but it would appear from our experience
we got an attitude and ambiance of 'welcome'. It was as if it was said to us see what we're about!' We'll be dropping by again. There's s whole lot of Savannah we still didn't see. Enjoy your Southern evenin' Savannah!..;-)..

B's Cracklin' burned down just a few days ago. Sigh. They say they will rebuild.

Sorry. Mistook you for Albania.

What are the odds ... that just 2 weeks after the NYT does a huge Savannah travel story, they come back and
a real estate story on tbe "emerging" (and still affordable) Starland District -- in advance of the coming flood of Manhattanites with open checkbooks.

This is very lame. But it's "what they're saying... "

"While Savannah is not known for its nightlife, it's legal to consume alcohol outdoors ... so you can even take the post-rehearsal dinner party outside if the weather is nice."

Jumping from No. 7 to No. 3 in one year is pretty amazing -- but mostly reflective of the city's higher profile and sharp increase in tourism over the past couple of years.
