In an article published today (Special section NY Post) The Alexa Global Top 15 names Historic downtown as a buy. Mentioned in the survey "Along with the Upper King Street corridor, Look at Halsey Park a new community being sold in Harleston Village. The plan features row houses with private rooftop decks and harbor views. Row houses are priced in the 1.4 million range".

On the global list in addition to Charleston:
Monaco
Vail
Kauai
Anguilla
Antigua
Argentina
LA
Tel Aviv
Hyde Park
Zambia
Tuscany
Paris
London

I'd say Charleston is flying with some high, deep pocketed company. LOL

I always thought it would make sense to have more rooftop restaurants in Sav, like maybe on top of buildings on Broughton or along the river. That Rocks restaurant on top of Bohemian is great I go there a lot. Good use of space and would offer great views. Would be a good business decision probably? Or maybe not? I wonder why it hasn't happened yet. Would be cool for residents to hang out on rooftop patios if they live in residential lofts too. Make it more like Nola with all its balconies and people living as well as working downtown.

I do recall you mentioned the rooftop idea in a previous post, however, this is way beyond just the idea ofa rooftop hangout.

There are lots of million-dollar residences in downtown Savannah ... just sayin' ... and many with rooftop gardens as well.

I believe both the News Place condos and Frogmore Lofts provide what SL is looking for.

interesting, where's that? That was just what came to mind from caddy's post that mentioned rooftops. More of them here would increase property value even more I would think. You basically get another whole floor on top of an existing building and a cool view to boot. I'd think restaurants and residential would be the biggest uses. Broughton, the river, and around squares. Perhaps to deal with victorian architecture house roofs they could have more of a vintage widow's walk or something.

Anyway, I think we'll be in this article as a city sometime soon too....

I'm going to be honest with you SL. Your posts are mindless. ie: "to deal with Victorian architecture"...what the F are you talking about? Eliminate it? Other posts you have made..."as long as it fits the HD". Where are you coming from? I get it, you want rooftop bars and restaurants and think it's cool. I DON'T. I really don't want the AH's of the world drinking until the lawful closing hour on the roof of a house in the HD. Easy to understand isn't it?

And who died and left you head of COA committee to suggest a "vintage window's walk" (can we buy at Restoration Hardware on line?) or "something? (now what would that 'something' be??)

Let's get real here about these rooftop ideas. Oh BTW, your earliar example of Top of the Rocks doesn't even come close to what we're talking about.
