Some friends and I just made our first visit to the new Brice Hotel, which is the renovated version of the old Mulberry on East Bay (across from the Pirates House). OMG what a travesty! The Mulberry was a beautiful hotel in an old, historic Savannah structure with classic low country and New Orleans-style charm. I agree that the guest rooms needed updating, but the bones of the hotel were beautiful and solid. They've gutted it and turned it into a stark-white minimalistic nightmare. Ugly is not the word. Even the books lining the shelves of the library -- ARE ALL WHITE!
