can anyone tell me about the Waters Avenue area in Savannah? (Garden City: apartments, house)

I will be moving to Savannah soon, and have been offered an apartment in the Waters Ave. area. zip code 31406. I am unable to go down at this time, I have not seen the place except on a virtual tour. Before I pay on it I would like to know if it is located in the city or in the outlying areas. I refuse to live in any city proper, just in the outlying areas. I am a single female , I really need help on finding somewhere reasonably safe, also, I am a nurse and hope the job market is lucrative for nurses. Thanks

Waters Ave is a long, long, street. Some of it is totally unacceptable and other parts of it are quite nice with nice apartments. You will have to let us know something about the address before we can answer. The zipcode makes me think it could be in a fairly good location.

Savannah is quite spread out. It's about 70sq miles in area. The outlying areas could be a long commute for you. Plus the outlying areas don't have the same police and fire protection.

to be out of the city look on the Islands or West Chatham

The 31406 zip code is in the City of Savnnah. Have you considered the Garden City area. It is an outlying suburb of West Chatham county (Savannah is in Chatham County). It is an older, small town and VERY convenient to ANYWHERE in Savannah - sometimes quicker than living with the City of Savannah city limits. Also, would buying a small house be an option for you? (we have a newly remodeled house that we would like to sell on our own before turning it over to a realtor. Will watch for a reply
