Employment wise...you'll fare better in the Savh area.
I will admit, Statesboro has grown within the last 20 years, but the total consensus of employer's pay is LOW. Major employers in Statesboro that I can think of at this moment are: Georgia Southern University, Viracon (glass mfg), and Walmart Distribution Ctr. There's a greater pool of jobs in Savh with a higher probability of higher pay..
If you move to Statesboro and decide to commute to Savh, you should have a good commute since I16 East or Westbound doesn't accrue alot of traffic, or at least not like in Atlanta. My commute was on avg 1hr or 65 miles one way and I did that for 7.5 yrs right up til the plant closed

. Only encountered a few "traffic jams" during the 7:45-8:00am hrs. After 4:30p was a somewhat different story, but yet doable.
