Yes from the drawings on the Biz Chronicle website it looks like the garage will be on the NW side of the new addition, between it and the Omni hotel.

Just for the uninitiated, the existing parking for the Westin (which is a small lot and garage that's on the other side of the convention center) was and remains too small for the busiest times.

Guest parking is one of the biggest complaints about the Westin on Trip Advisor

Honestly think it would be a huge draw, 300 nights of concerts a year. The population could support a majority of them but for the city itself it would be another huge tourist draw.

Add in my idea of canals to trails...

You love mentioning Augusta. Plant Vogtle represents billions of dollars by itself. Might want to research beforehand.

There are multiple $100 million+ projects under construction in Augusta. Cyber Command? Cyber Innovation center? Cyberworks? Starbucks?

Mainly we are talking about commercial development inside the city central business district or downtown.

Vogtle the nightmare project is still going strong & might be completed in our lifetimes along with the NSA's 2nd home, but other than those two projects Augusta doesn't have a whole lot going on.

Is the city gaining population & growing? Savannah itself has hit a critical mass to where the outlying suburbs are now experiencing quite a bit of pressure on the housing & rental market. Right now you cannot find a 1 bedroom under $800 unless it's located near a gun & knife club & most 2 bedrooms are pushing $1200 in a complex with amenities like a pool & fitness.

Housing prices have jumped about 5 to 7% within the last 6 months as their is a lack of inventory within commuting distance to Savannah. The city is pretty much built out for homes under 400k, there are still several hundred lots in the county which can be developed into single family homes but the majority of these are going to go for over 500k as a lot of them have water access.

Gulfstream is getting ready to bring another 200 service jobs to the area which are all paying $25 plus an hour with benefits

Gulfstream to add 200 jobs with Chatham County expansion - Business - Savannah Morning News - Savannah, GA

Also the LNG plant is going to be coming online within a year as 99% of construction is complete. From what I have read this is going to be around another 200 blue collar & engineer positions starting around $25 an hour up to $35 for experienced technicians. Energy jobs pay.

Well Chatham county act as a one county metro. So of course you going to see more development in the county and city proper.

.
The NSA is already here in Augusta. Your probably confusing the NSA with the Cyber Command. If your focusing on development in or around the Central Business District. There is two $100 million+ projects under construction.

1. Two 5 story buildings for cyber training is under construction. The state is also paying for the extension of Riverwalk to 13th Street. Two buildings will taje up a portion of Augusta University riverfront campus.

2. Sibley and Kings Mills 1 million sq. ft. is a mixed-use cyber village.

There is a $100+ million project under construction two mins away in North Augusta featuring a minor baseball stadium. The $100 million depot project breaks ground December-February.

The $30 million Laney Walker apartment building underway begins at $900. Its right in the middle of the hood.

Why don't we take the 120 million for the civic center replacement and add on to this and make a huge complex and they could add the amphitheater as well.

Huh? Chatham County (population 300,000) is one of THREE counties within the official Savannah MSA, along with Effingham and Btyan. All three are among the fastest growing counties in the state. While Bryan and Effingham are very desirable suburbs to Savannah and Chatham County, with good schools, recreation amenities etc, they both have healthy and growing industrial / commercial sectors as well. Bryan County especially has see several large logistics companies open in the last year or two.
