OMG! Are you talking about that historical society house??? The mansion with gazillion sqaure feet!!
I was HOOKED on that house! I called the society and the rep had to TALK ME OUT OF IT! She was like "honey. That house aint for no amatures. Let me send you some pictures." And the holes, and the mold, and the water damage- I was like "So what? It needs 100k?" and my fiance was like, "sure it needs 100k to keep from falling down!"

LOL actually it only has 2700 sq ft, which isnt all that much!! We are going to see it on Monday, I mean who really NEEDS walls?????? I mean you would probably just put a window there anyway!!! LOL
Yes it is in pretty sad shape, but hubby and I have done this before. In Lynchburg they have what is called "dollar houses." You pay a dollar for any old run done, could be beautiful ,historic house then you have a year to restore the outside and 5 years to finish the inside. Hey at least Park has a roof!!!!!! Last one we considered didnt!!!
Alice in Virginia, but not for long
P.S. And you do realize that in Savannah mold IS a houseplant???

You all have fun. Feel free to send me a message if you want a second opinion. I've lived and worked all over Savannah and won't mind telling you what your realtor is not allowed to say.
The 1000 block of E. Park is pretty rough. A few great houses out there but the neighbors might simply steal your dogs and be done with it.
Personally, I like the first few blocks of W. Duffy. Nice homes, close to Forsyth Park and lots of shade trees.

LOL. Thanks for the reality check Ellie~ I'm sure its not in a good area. But I'm content in my fantasy. I hope for Alice and the homes sake it is all Alice wants. Then I plan to knock on her door one day and ask for a tour. That is one amazing looking house.
Although I cant imagine why they are asking 175k. That seems really, really high.

I like them too but the prices!!! Woo hoo way out there!!! I dont think stealing the dogs is an option, not if they like their fingers and hands!! LOL
Shooting maybe but they couldnt get close. I was thinking I have one dog that will eat anyone, thought of letting him have free rein of the house and yard. Anyone can climb in..........but they wouldnt be getting out, at least not in one peice!
Alice in Virginia, but not for long!

I had a great pair of dogs like that.
Once, a criminal fleeing a police chase hopped the fence into my backyard and immediately flew back out. I was away at the time. I found a note on my door from the police, informing me that they had entered my yard and searched it for a gun the guy had tossed. The note said they'd also had problems with the dogs but had found no gun. I immediately rushed out and checked on things. I went out to the shed where the dogs hung out and my eyes immediately started burning and tearing up. It appears the cop had maced the dogs while searching the yard. Of course, I called and pitched a fit. Didn't help. You can't fight the police.

Did anyone see the house hunters savannah episode. The guy bought a mansion on Forsyth park and completely restored it. It was in really rough shape. The guy had been on house hunters before in LA and had restored a house there also.

No, I haven't even heard about it. Maybe it happened when I was out of town. Which house was it?

I saw that episode! i looked all over for the house when I was there, I mean, it should be easy to find, its ON forsyth, but the guy did such an awsome job on re-doing the front, and house hunters showed the redone house for only seconds that I couldnt remember what the redone house looked like.
He owns a local antiques store in the HD. And he's cute.

Yea, my wife made a couple of comments about him, trying to get me going. The remodel job he did was first rate, however he is not a first time flipper.
