Question school lottery?? help?

Hi,
I am moving to the Savannah area with my family and heard about a lottery for pre-K. My one daughter is almost 3, so can anyone tell me where I should look for this lottery or how to sign her up?

Thank you!
Melissa

Contact the Board of Education. The facilities for Pre-K are limited in the public school buildings at this time. Hence the lottery. Hopefully, we will be able in the future to supply enough rooms, teachers, etc to do it properly. I believe that it depends on the child's birthday too. It's for the child that will be going into the regular kindergarten the following year. I think your child would be too young for the public school pre-K this fall. The fall of 2009, would depend on when her 4th birthday was.

There are many private pre-K schools around the area. You may even find one very close to where you will live. Quite a few of the churches have one.

Default great pre-school

If you are looking for a half day pre-school/pre-k program I would highly recommend White Bluff United Methodist Church. My son went there when he was 4. I was a great program and I can't say enough good about it. We are not methodist and you don't have to be. They don't do very many "religious" things. Kindergarten teachers from the best schools say they are always happy with how well the kids from this program are prepared for kindergarten.
