Default Advice for military moving to Savannah

For those of you who will be moving to the area and working at Hunter you really should consider Georgetown. The commute is very short and with gas prices these days who couldn't use a short commute? Georgetown Elementary is a great school and there are a lot of military kids there. My kids have been there the past 2 year and have had a great experience. Georgetown has a great mix of people and housing. Georgetown is also very convenient to just about everything in Savannah including I-95. Only and hour to the beach in Hilton Head!

My husband is applying for a position which would take us to Savannah, and we have every intention of moving to, and only to (if that's not too presumptuous of us) the Georgetown area. I've done extensive research online (only been down once to check it out...really liked it), and from what I can tell, you can't get much better schools, and still be close enough to Hunter to be worth it. The houses in the area also look really nice for the most part, while still being really affordable. All in all, I think Georgetown will be a perfect fit for my family.
