AL,

Ocean Beach in San Diego, on Long Branch...cute little one bedroom. I mean literally, small as haides...I could touch the ceiling and a wall in the bedroom but I loved it. Two blocks from the beach...all good but the angry crazy people who lived AT the beach and the occasional domestic brawl and gunshot ;P

Venice beach in LA> that was cool too except for the fact I ignored when I moved in, that it was where the drug dealers literally hung out. On my lawn nightly....they were nice though...surprisingly??? life is weird...people are weirder.

D.

expiring minds?? haha..good one

Ocean Beach.
I was on Pescadero.
One block from the beach.
And I usta fish the cliffs all the time.
And the pier too.
Could walk to both.
Back in those days it was safe to pull an all nighter out fishing.
And I know where Long Branch was/is.

What does this have to do with Savannah?

Nothing, you're right...but this is human. People get to talkin', sometimes the subject at hand gets OLD and so naturally it veers into other subjects. People need ways of getting in touch with each other because modern communities are so defunct. In a way, even though I started this whole topic, blogs are weird, and I normally don't get involved but I needed personal tales and info on Savannah. Now it seems that little conversations are starting up. I think that's ok.
Anyhow....Al was just asking me about some stuff I said......just like the other guys were trying to figure out which high schools they each went to. Totally off subject, but who cares at this point! It's cool that people are reaching out to each other in whatever way they can. I mean just look at the state of affairs in this country, we need all the cohesion we can muster!
Myself, just trying not to be a judgmental crud and allow life to just be. It gets old always being on the judgmental end of the stick.
it's ok, try it.

OK AS FOR THINGS ABOUT SAVANNAH: ANYONE GOT SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO TELL ME...
THE MUSIC SCENE:

THE ART SCENE:

THE....UH....DIVERSITY OF FOOD/RESTAURANTS?? ANY GOOD THAI FOOD..I'm an addict and conse...oh crap can't spell it...connoisseur ... of thai food and hope there are some good places to get it down there.

HOW BOUT HIKING/WALKING SPOTS:....love to walk and hope there are some nice spots.

Ok that would be helpful to know a bit about these things and they're on topic?
)

Peace.
D.

I thought the same thing as I was typing my reply.
But I was only trying to be friendly, and welcoming, and encouraging to a maybe transplant.
So I continued.
I can assure you...
It won't happen again.

Lotsa diversity.
You name it, it's here.
Thai?
I don't go downtown much, so can't say.
But I've passed plenty on Southside.
And I've got two that I frequent up my way.
Kao in T'bolt.
And Little Saigon on Whitemarsh.
Excellent.

I love Thai food too.

There are 6 Thai Restaurants in Savannah that I have eaten at. I like the one in Thunderbolt and Ruan Thai on Broughton downtown.

So post a list, if it ain't off topic?
And rate them for us newcomers.

And if you any good Sushi places, that would be appreciated too.

1. The King and I at Hodgson Memorial and Eisenhower is very good
2. Ruan Thai downtown - very good
3. Kao Thai in Thunderbolt - very good
4. Tangerine - southside -OK, little pricey
5. Chiriya's Thai - midtown - across from mall - my least favorite

That's it - I thought there were 6 but just 5. May be more, but those are the ones I have tried.

Sushi: I like Seasons of Japan on Broughton and the Japanese Restaurant which is near me in Sand Fly. Sushi Zen is very good downtown.
