Any opinions about the 400 block of Price St.?
I am looking at property around the 400 block of Price. I currently live out of state and am looking for vacation property. Price street appears to be a rather busy street which would not be a huge problem, but I wonder if this is a good area and what to expect.
Thanks

I'm not sure what the cross streets are there, but I'm pretty sure the neighborhood is decent. I think it's near the Beach Institute, which is a small museum. I know other people who live around there.
It's still not and never will be a completely safe area. You have to get your mind around that. That's true of the entire historic district. Would I live there? Probably, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Price St. is busy and you'll have no front yard. Your front porch will be a few feet from the sidewalk.
You shouldn't buy it sight unseen. Come down for a few days, meet some of the neighbors. People will be happy to talk to you. Savannah's pretty friendly for the most part.

Thank you Ellie. Noticed that about the porches. I had also heard that it may become a two way street at some point in the future, so I think noise might be an issue. It seems that the townhomes in the Beach Institute area is not quite as expensive as those further in. Thanks again, your feedback is always appreciated on this forum.

You're welcome. I really love living here. It's an interesting place that has been getting better and better. No place is perfect, but I plan to stay.

I found a beautiful townhome on Price a little further in I think it was about in the 200 block. Great house really liked it \. Not much front yard but great backyard!!!!! And 3 car parking!!. But not enough room for hubbys old cars. So we are still looking, but I would definatley look into that one.

The 400 block would be fine as far as location, but for me personally I wouldn't like it b/c there is no parking on Price and unless you get parking with the home, it would be challenging, but if it's just a vacation home for you, then perhaps the parking wouldn't be an issue! It is a fairly busy one way street, but not horrible.
