Moving to Savannah?
Since my last thread was deleted I have no idea if I ever recieved any responses to my inqueries. I am curious about the different areas of Savannah and what may be the best to live in. Can anyone give me a lil input? Thank you

Cay, you are asking the same question for other cities. Are you doing some sort of research? Surely you know that these cities are all spread out over a large area. The "best" place to live depends on what a person may think is good. Close neighbors? No neighbors? waterfront? close to school? away from children? close to shopping? Zillion dollar homes?
Perhaps if you are really interested in Savannah (or any of the other places) you should tell more about what you think is "best" and why.

Yes, it's too much work to give everyone a list of neighborhoods. Have you been reading all of the old posts?

What is your price range and what type of house are you looking for? Newer, new, old, fixer upper?

Savannah is such a great area. I came from a small town...you know the kind with four lights that look like a tick tack toe board. I thought the "Big City" was not going to be for me. I was wrong. It's not the bigness of Atlanta. It's spread out and more laid back. Where Atlanta is a busy, go go go city. Savannah has many great parks and things for families to do. If you are looking for more of a down home town, I would suggest Pooler, Rincon, or Garden City. They are all really nice places with pretty good school systems. I am a Real Estate agent so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I will be glad to help in any way I can.

Moving to Savannah
Garden City is on the out skirts of Savannah. It's about 8 miles from Savannah.

Not exactly...Garden City and Savannah abut each other on the northern part of Chatham County. They are separated by an industrial and business area that is in Savannah. Farther South, where the residential area begin, the city limits zig and zag around each other. It is difficult in some places to know where the line is. Savannah and Thunderbolt, on the east side, is the same way. One starts where the other ends. Savannah City Hall is about 8 miles from the Garden City City Hall.

Your best bet might be to read other posts like yours and see what people have had to say...you might be able to find someone who was looking for the same kind of "best area to live in", and in turn, find out what the suggestions were for them. Otherwise, it would be helpful if you specified your definition of a good neighborhood (some really like the urban lifestyle and want the local nightlife to be, well, local...some, like me, prefer the opposite, and want a safe, family-friendly atmosphere with a laid-back day-to-day flow...still others prefer a high-end, gated community with lots of ammenities...the list goes on). That way, the folks-that-be can answer your question more thoroughly.
I can tell you what I've discerned, for myself anyway. As I mentioned, I'd prefer a much more family-friendly atmosphere than anything. I really like the Georgetown area for just that, and the fact that it has a good school (comparatively). Other places I'd consider if the commute weren't such an issue are Pooler, Richmond Hills, and possibly the islands. I'm sure there are more, but I really did zone in on Georgetown pretty much immediately.
At any rate, I hope you find what you're looking for.
