Pooler, Ga.
Was wondering if there are any pictures of Pooler on here, couldn't find them, and plan on moving there? Thank you all so much.

You probably won't find any. It's sort of a generic small town. It's building up rapidly, but at the present time, it's not much to look at.

I agree, harsh or not.
Pooler's old town center, along Hwy. 80, has a certain amount of charm, but what most people now consider to be Pooler, the Godley Station area, is a conglomeration of big box stores with some very generic looking subdivisions nearby. Some of the new apartment complexes aren't terribly offensive. They're brightly painted and have some nice architectural details - but they're just apartment complexes. You could be anyplace America.
Edit:
I did an image search for Pooler and most of what the websites claim to be of Pooler are actually photos of downtown Savannah and historic sites in the area.

There are a few pictures on these Pooler websites
Ellie is very accurate in her description.
There has been no effort to preserve anything of old Pooler.
There was an attempt 12 years ago But:

Pooler seems to me like a bedroom community for Savannah. My son just built a house there and is very happy with the area.

Pooler is a nice little town. It's just not what you would call picturesque. For years it served the west side as a residential area mainly for workers for the paper mill and the sugar refinery. Later, it has become more and more popular for folks that work in the Savannah downtown area.
It's very convenient for the people at Gulf Stream or the Airport. As the industial areas get more and more built up, you are going to see Pooler and Bloomingdale get more and more popular. It's amazing what has been done on the west side of Chatham County in just a few years......with more to come!!!!

Airport was probably more accurate. There are four Holiday Inns in Savannah. The one closest to the airport is only five minutes away.
Gas prices have been dropping rapidly here. Last time I looked it was about $2.12, though it's probably lower by now.
