Help, help. I'm visiting today and need to buy groceries. Which store is more likely to have the best produce and some nice big shrimp? I'm in Pooler.

I'm on Wilmington.
All we got is PUBLIX, and Kroger.
I know this ain't no help, but I hate to see a post unanswered.

Ps: Most of the chains have decent shrimp, at decent prices, at this time of year.
HTH

Make sure you get Wild Georgia Shrimp and not the farm raised ones. It's hard to say which would have the best produce. One day it would be Food Lion, and the next the Piggly Wiggly.

I lived in Pooler for 20 years. I'll have to say Piggly Wiggly for Meat/shrimp and Food Lion for everything else (cheaper than the pig, too).

Piggly Wiggly definately has better quality meat.

Thanks, all. A little late, but I appreciate it. I went to the Piggly and managed to get the few things I needed.
Here at home, I'm very particular and spoiled with my grocery store. It has fresh flowers in the rest rooms and a conveyer system which you drive up to and they load all your groceries for you. I do not have a Whole Foods of Trader Joe's or any of those kinds of gourmet stores, so I was hoping to try one of that type of thing. You won't starve in Pooler, though.

LOL--When I lived in Savannah I didn't starve but they probably won't get a Trader Joe's for years. There are now 3 in Atlanta, IIRC but it means a cross town trip for me.

I've actually heard rumors that we're getting a Trader Joe's, but I'm sure it's just that...rumors.
