Didn't realize this post was still ongoing...at the end of the day it boils down to a persons preference. I lived in Savannah for 2 years and I didn't enjoy it. That doesn't mean Savannah is a bad place; just wasn't my cup of tea. Savannah is not the lair of Satan that some folks make it out to be. The only advice I would offer someone moving to Savannah is to go with an open mind and don't compare it to other places. Hope this helps someone.

We recycle...

That's a shame.
What made you not enjoy it?

And the rest is all good advice.

For me, I didn't take my own advice. I moved to Savannah with expectations on how things should be. I've read some of the negative comments about Savannah and you could apply all of the negative comments to anywhere in the country if you wanted to. I think it's very easy to focus on the bad instead of focusing in on the good. Looking back on my time there, Savannah was not as bad as I felt it was when I was there. Having said that, I'm not moving back I love where I'm at and I hope anyone who moves to Savannah would love being there. I met some great folks down there and I had some good times. If you're thinking about moving to Savannah, here's my last bit of advice: just do it. Give yourself at least 2 years to get a good feel for the place. If you like it stay and if you don't find another place.
