If you're staying in a decent hotel, ask the concierge to make you reservations at one of their select fine restaurants. They usually have an in to get you a reservation.

Make sure you get up one morning and go to Clary's for breakfast. I recommend the Oglethorpe with coffee. One of my other favorites is Tubby's in Thunderbolt. It's got a great atmosphere and the food is always excellent.

Have fun,

Michael

All of these are very good choices. Ill Pasticcio is the italian restaurant on the corner of Bull and Broughton, next door to the Bull Street Chophouse.

Vic's on the River would be my #1 choice for a decent mix between casual and upscale.
There is also a Tubby's on River Street but the one in Thunderbolt is just as good.

You all failed to mention the true jewel of Savannah, Paula Deens' place. Sorry I feel a bit sarcastic this morning.

I don't get people who will wait in a long line to just get a time they are to come back to eat. If I were on vacation or moving to Savannah I would rather go to one of the places you all mentioned.

Another good upscale choice is the Chart House, located between River Street and Bay Street (entrance is at one of the roads between the two street). 1760 is also good and quaint.

I like Mimi's but I thought I was the only one.

Cha Bella and Local Ten 11 are two of my favorite nice places to eat.
