Hello! I now ther have been a million post on where to live in Savannah or the surrounding areas, but for some reason I have spent endless hours reading these forums and I still can't figure out what is safe and what's not....especailly for a 22 year old female. I am searching for apartments in Savannah and I can search by Zip Code...so can anyone PLEASE tell me safest areas in Savannah by ZIP code. Sorry I don't mean to be so picky, but I am really lost and I just don't want to end up signing a lease and living an area that I shouldn't be living in.
Thank you!

Savannah proper?
Or more out away from town?
The city?
Or the suburbs?
Is what I'm trying to ask.

31404...Thunderbolt.
31410...Whitemarsh and Wilmington Islands.
Will take you East of the city.

Just to play devil's advocate, the Eastside also includes some very rough neighborhoods too. 31404 can be really bad in places. Stick with 31410. You'll be out on the islands, but it's the most homogeneously "safe" part of town.

Safe??? No place will be 100% safe. But there are some that would be foolish to walk around in after midnight. Or to leave your front door unlocked. As it has been often said, "bad things happen to good people."

Some of the "good" neighborhoods, like Arsdsley Park and Baldwin Park, are too accessible to some borderline bad areas. The criminal element tends to spill over into those areas sometimes.

I would try to stick with the 31410 and 31406 codes to begin with. I think you could find what you need in those two. There are some lovely apartment complexes, but I am not sure if they are in 31406 or 31405. 05 has some good areas. Do you know where you will be working?

I would not reccommend 31406, as "urban flight" from the inner city has been filtering down into this zip code. Even 31419 (Georgetown) is starting to suffer, due to a high transient population. 31410 is good, as are the new areas in Pooler. So look to the Islands or the Westside, depending on where you'll be working.

Said Ellie...
"31404 can be really bad in places. "

But the closer you get to The Islands...
A really nice apartment complex is at the foot of the bridge.
Have heard some really good things about it in previous threads.

What are you looking for?
An apartment complex?
Half of a duplex?
A stand alone?
