I'm from NOLA, and when I've lived in places where I can't easily find authentic ingredients I order from Cajun Grocer on line and have it delivered. There may be other sites that are good too, but I've ordered large amounts and freeze at least four times without any problems.

I've been looking at several sites, but they all seem to charge quite a bit to ship. I'll revist the site you mentioned.

Seems to me that even though this isn't cajun country, a city with a rich food history like Savannah (with some shared commonalities with New Orleans) would have at least one purveyor of cajun items. Oh well.

New Orleans isn't Cajun...its Creole. and its food has Creole origins. Not Cajun.

Point taken. Regardless, it's rather odd that Savannah doesn't have more "ingredients" available to her. I know the demographics of the residents may not support it, but being a large tourist destination (and food being one of the major attractions), it would be great to have a truly gourmet supermarket here (Fresh Market & Publix don't quite cut it) that carries these kinds of ingredients.

Hey Paula Deen....got any money to invest in such an endeavor??

well, i'm from new orleans and the closest things i've seen from home are at fresh market on abercorn. they do have andouille sausage, biegnet mix, probably creole seasoning salt. seafood, well, it doesnt compare. when i go home, i make a trip to rouses grocery store and stock up on my red beans, spices, etc.
