Going to Savannah this weekend, and since I am going to be alone, I don't want to feel silly dining by myself - I'd rather pick something up and eat at the hotel, but don't want to miss wonderful food Savannah has to offer. Any suggestions of good restaurants offering local specialties for take out?

thank you!

I don't have any suggestions for you, as I'm still new to this area myself. I can tell you that we've noticed that Savannah is filled with unique and great places to dine. It will take us years to try them all. But, the take-out side, I'm not familiar with. But, don't feel silly for dining alone! People do it all of the time when they are traveling! You don't want to miss out on experiencing the atmosphere and cuisine of a city just because of thinking you're silly for being alone! Let us know what you try!

HUH?
Not trying to be my usually crude, rude, and socially unacceptable self, but...
Savannah is a sprawling city.
What area?
You don't wanna get back to the hotel with cold food, do ya?

And I'm with you on this...
I don't like eating out, or drinking, alone either.

Lots of people eat alone. You would be the only one that would even notice.

It allows you to browse the menus of local restaurants. We have no clue what kind of food you seek, so.....

See if I help out a tourist again.

Historic district old Savannah Georgia Restaurant Reviews

It has been years since I visited Savannah but you will find many restaurants in the historic district and on River Street. I'm pretty sure you could get take out from Spanky's--bar food, tasty. Many other options.

Huey's is good--also on River Street.

Several streets over the Crystal Beer Parlor serves some good burgers and I'm sure they would make one to go.

I never felt out of place dining alone on River Street. FWIW.

Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House is authentically Savannah --Southern family style. I believe you are seated at long tables. Very nice meal.

good luck
