Default What are the good and bad Savannah neighborhoods

I'm looking at a house on Dolphin Drive. Does anyone know anything about the area it's in? Or can anyone tell me what's best and what to avoid as far as neighborhoods. I'm the Bohemin type if that helps

That's near the Ardsley Park area. It's a nice area, older communities, close to the islands. I've heard that people in Ardsley Park experience some crime. I hope someone in the area can answer more specific questions for you. I know that is in the Low Elementary, Myers Middle, and Johnson High school districts. Not too many homes have sold their recently. So it seems people like it there. I'm just going to bump you up for some more knowledgeable people.

I haven't been in that area in a long time or very often. I once helped canvass that neighborhood with a friend who was running for office so did walk it pretty thoroughly.

If it hasn't changed, I remember that it was solidly middle class, pretty safe, and racially mixed, but mostly white. I would live there. It wouldn't be my first choice because it's a little far from the center of town. More than likely, it's still quite affordable there as far as Savannah goes.

Have you visited, or is this online shopping that you're doing?

As a bohemian, and I'm not sure how tolerant you are of middle Americans, but you will be surrounded by some pretty normal people out there, probably lots of little old ladies. That's an educated guess.

If you're stating that you're a bohemian and willing to put up with about anything, like most of the other bohemians in Savannah do, then you'll find the greatest concentration of like-minded people living on the fringes of the historic district. That is not a terribly safe area, but artists and musicians live there in relatively high numbers. It's a good place if you are tough, tolerant, and want to buy a home that needs work and live there as the neighborhood improves.

Not knowing you or what your plans are, that's about the most I can provide you with at this point.

BTW, it is no where near Ardsley Park, it's near Bacon Park in the Bona Bella area.

From what I've heard of the boundaries, it's within a few miles of Ardsley Park. I was just trying to relate something that is more well known to the general public. Before moving here, I never saw Bona Bella or Bacon Park. I never heard of the starlight district either (I think that's what it's called not really sure) I had someone give me a tour of all the areas and give me a rough idea of the boundaries. So, if I was wrong again. Sorry again.
