I'm seeking information on an empty Victorian house I was interested in buying about a year ago. It is 407 E. Huntingdon, and as far as I can tell, it sort of went to foreclosure in late 2007, except the owner is still listed in county records as the owner. Does anyone know what is going on with the house? I'd love to buy it at the right price, considering it has sat empty for almost 2 years now

I'd contact a knowledgeable downtown real estate agent. They all gossip among themselves and the odds are good that more than one will know the scoop.

Thanks. I did that and it did not work. From what I know, someone else was going to buy it from the "bank" and then I was going to buy it from him. But that was two years ago. My agent said that the deal got hung up somewhere in the foreclosure and the guy who was going to flip it to me could not get clear title. Meanwhile, it sits empty. Seems to me that will not help values on the block. I even tried contacting the last lender, but they were out of business. Seems the house must be caught up in this huge foreclosure mess afflicting the country

my next door neighbors a realtor. He specializes in Victorian fixers. I'll ask him.

Sorry- he didn't know anything about it. Only commented that it's a beautiful area.

Sagis actually shows the old owner still. Last time I was in Savannah, I went to the courthouse - and they still showed the old owner, too.
