Default Writing an Article for a Regional Mag - Looking for Local Input

Greetings all;

I'm working on an assignment and looking for some good, local information on watering holes. Not of the alcoholic persuasion, mind you - actual bodies of water where people visit to cool off.

I'm a Savannah transplant (two years here), so I know the obvious ones: Tybee/Little Tybee, the Aquatic Center and the Y in Whitemarsh. Any other hidden gems out there I'm missing?

Lakes? Rivers? I can't seem to find a lot on Savannah Lakes. Are there any?

Trying to get a good feel for where people go for recreational water fun in the summer. Any and all ideas appreciated!

WW

Mogans's Bridge and King's Ferry on the Ogeechee River are the only fresh water swimming places that I know of.

There just aren't any "Savannah Lakes" Lake Mayer is a drained swamp and it is strictly for fishing. No swimming. There are a few private ponds. River front property is privately owned also.

Don't forget Daffin Park.
