Favorite resteraunt in Savannah?
What is your favorite restaurant in Savannah? The place you always go to when you have friends in town. The place that sums up Savannah from the food, the atmosphere, location and price? The place where you just sit back, look around and say "yeah, this is nice. I think I love this place."

I have several favorites. Strangely, I rarely if ever mention them here.

So mention! My brothers coming into town for 2 days and I am trying to think up some great places to go. I have favorites, but still cant find the spot that "has it all."

I love Mrs. Wilkes at 107 W Jones St, Savannah, GA 31401-4507.
You sit with strangers. You eat what is given (southern). The Fried Chicken is amazing.. so are the veggies. Friendly people. There is a reason why there is a line outside waiting to be let in! I'm not from the south so I look forward to good old fashioned southern cooking when in Savannah.. and this place fits that bill to a T.

No spot has it all. That's why there's more than one place to eat. I'm actually craving Indian food right now, which I'll have to drive out to the Southside for.

A Vida has an excellent wine list :-) and I love the calamari. It's on Broughton St. I also enjoy Jazz'd for tapas nibblers. Both are moderate in price, it's the cocktails that end up costing!
