Default Moving to Savannah - looking for nice neighbourhood

Hello everyone,

I'm moving to Savannah and looking for a nice neighbourhood to live in. Money isn't a problem, as the company is paying for the rental. Commuting is not a problem neither. Could someone please indicate a couple of nice neighbourhood I could be looking at?

Cheers!

A few neighborhoods with some high $$ homes in them are:
The Landings, Dutch Island, Southbridge, Ardsley Park Proper, Downtown,
Isle of Hope.

I was just there and asked the locals and they liked Wilmington Island and ??Winchester?? Also, Pooler was popular. Effingham county has better schools than Chatham I was told.

Habersham Woods, Mayfair, Magnolia Park, and some areas of Wilmington Island, Whitemarsh Island, Talahi Island and Wylie Island. Then there's Rose Dru, Vernonburg, Coffee Bluff, Long Island (on Whitemarsh), Turners Rock(that could be a bit pricey) Also, some sections of Kensington Park, Windsor Forest, Harrock Hall(near Isle of Hope) Also some gated communities, that I don't know the name of, on both Laroach or Ferguson Ave.

In other words, there are many "good" neighborhoods. Some for $$ others for $$$$$. In the downtown Historic District, you will find homes and apartments that are walking distance to places to eat and have a good time. Just about everywhere else will require driving and parking.

Will you need to be close to place of employment? Driving time makes a difference. Also, is being near a certain denominational place of worship important?

I recently just moved to the Savannah area. The area is a bit spread out!! As mentioned above if driving is an issue than you might want to clarify the area you will be working to better determine the neighborhoods.

Richmond Hill & Pooler is an area that has seen alot of growth and development in the past years. Effingham County (Rincon, Guyton, Springfield) is an easy commute and offers the country setting with smaller neighborhoods.

Do you prefer to be in a cookie cutter community or a bit larger lots with unique homes?

This depends on your child. If your child is college bound, the Savannah-Chatham County Public Specialty Program Schools and Charter Schools offer a better program. The AP and IB and Early College programs are very successful
