Narrowed down my list...any opinions?? (Savannah, Wilmington Island: apartment complex, safe area, utilities)

OK...So, I have tried to fish through coutless pages of apartments, reviews of apartments and areas...I have come up with a list of a few that seem to be nice. Again, we are trying to keep in at or under the 900/month range with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in a SAFE area. Now I know safe is a relative word, but I mean on the average a safer area than others. I am not worried about being in the vicinity of a job...I work on ships and don't nbeed to commute anywhere...jsut a nice comfortable home!
-Preston Grove
-The Oaks at Wilmington Island (this one was a recommendation)
-Preserve at Godley Station
-River Crossing Apartments
-Carrington Square
-West Wind Landing (this one seems nice as well)
-Colonial Village at Godley Lake
-Colonial Grand at the Hammocks

Any advice on any of these would be awesome...any other ideas would be greatly appreciated as well!

You could divide that list into the western part of Chatham County and the eastern, island area. Decide if you prefer to be near the rivers and ocean. If you do, you could eliminate about half of your choices.

I guess if I was to make a decision, I would pick being closer to the water. In all honesty though, I would prefer whichever is better. I am really looking for a nice fairly priced SAFE neighborhood. So, we have narrowed it down to these names. If any of them are undesirable, then please let me know...if so are better than others than please let me know. We are coming down to visit, but we would really like to narrow our search to places that have nice reputations.

I have been reading reviews and one particular apartment complex raaised my eyebrow a little. The reviews on The Oaks at Wilmington Island seem to scream high water bills...Are these legitimate complaints, or are the water utilities high all around the Savannah area? ANy other things I should be aware of while conisdering Savannah as a place to live?

Try buccaneer trace apartments on Wilmington Island. They have 2 bedroom 2 baths fora bout 750-800 and its in a very safe neighborhood.
