Hi I live in Jacksonville FL, but have visited Savannah numerous times. Me and my wife love it here and want to buy a house here, but I need help finding the mls website for georgia/savannah. We are interested in old houses as we live in a 101 year old house in Jacksonville's historic district. I know that actual downtown living will be way too expensice to buy, so I was thinking maybe somewhere around the victorian district or ardsley park area. I know that these areas are kind of iffy, but we went through that here in Jacksonville too. I just hope someone can lead us to a good realtor or website that specializes in the historic homes. Thanks a lot and I hope to move here someday

Before making the move, RENT before you buy so you can get a good idea of the area first.

Hello - I'm a Realtor in Savannah but I specialize in New Home Sales. If you will send me your email address (privately), I will send you a link into our MLX so that you can view properties on there.

Good luck to you!

Marian

Have you looked at the condos at Jones and Whitaker dowtown. Short Sale / Foreclosure. Over 1700 square feet and can be bought for $399?

Default Ardsley not "iffy"

I would not say Ardsley Park is "iffy." If you are really in Ardsley Park, the quality of life is outstanding. If you are in the "Ardsley Area," you could be almost anywhere between Victory Drive and DeRenne (North to South) and Bull St. to Waters (West to East). Realtors use the term "Ardsley Area" very loosely. I would say east of Abercorn, west of Waters, North of 54th and south of 45th, you would be A-OK and love it. The other areas aren't necessarily bad but you will find more rentals, fewer sidewalks, etc. A benefit of being close to Habersham is riding your bike to Habersham Village for breakfast, dinner, groceries, etc. It is a huge asset to the area.

Other great areas for fixer upper type houses with great quality of life are Baldwin Park (41st Street west of Habersham & Maupas Street west of Habersham) and Parkside (east of Waters & South of Washington Avenue to 52nd Street) are both great options and less expensive than Ardsley Park. The Victorian district is more hit and miss and varies greatly street by street, block by block. You might use google maps and pull the little yellow man down to the street level and walk around.

Good luck. Living "in" the city of Savannah is fantastic.
