Default fresh seafood

Where should I buy fresh seafood? I saw a small sign right before the bridge crossing into Thunderbolt from Wilminton Island, but didn't write down the name. Any suggestions?

is there a farmers market around? love fresh veggies...

There are a number of good seafood markets around, larger ones like Matthews, Russos, Teeples; smaller or newer ones like the one you noticed at the bridge, and a couple or three others out on Tybee. Since I usually catch or am given fresh fish I rarely buy it, with the exception of shrimp. More often or not mine will come from Tybee or from Russos or Matthews, depending on where I am. Of course, I'm not afraid to buy shrimp off of a truck if I can get a good look/whiff of their product before buying.

Local grocery stores will sell Wild Georgia Shrimp, which is a product worth seeking out and supporting. Wild Georgia Shrimp

There's a small weekly, mostly organic farmer's market on the north end of Forsyth Park on Saturday mornings from 9 am - 1pm. It's growing in size and popularity. It's definitely worth supporting, too. The Forsyth Farmer's Market | Savannah, Georgia

The State Farmers Market is out on Hwy. 80 in Garden City. In season you can find some excellent produce, but unfortunately due to its location, it's not as good as it should be. It doesn't seem to have its own website. Savannah State Farmers Market - Savannah, GA | Local-Farmers-Markets.Com

I know you are in Savannah, but we just scored the most fabulous fresh shrimp and swordfish at Pooler Seafood on 80.

I have been "tasked" by my family to pick up some fresh shrimp for Low Country Boil before driving home to Macon on Friday. Where exactly is it? I can't find it online.

Be sure that you have a cooler and ice to pack the shrimp in or it won't be "fresh." There's nothing quite as bad as fresh shrimp that stayed warm for a couple of hours.....Ugh!

Finally found it Thursday. If you are heading towards I-16 on Pooler Pkwy, go RIGHT. From Piggly Wiggly, you have to go under the overpass. Bought shrimp and it was fresh and very affordable.
