Its easier to work towards your own interests than working together as a group to solve a problem. It's even harder to unite other countries with different global agendas towards a common goal.

There's a lot of thought provoking video clips regarding complexity and how global problems become almost impossible to solve on a Facebook community page

The Watchman's Rattle | Facebook

Why do we have a tendency to fight one another when we know sharing results in the most optimum outcome for everyone? Why does our biology cause us to hurt the ones we love, hoard resources and compete with one another?

Personally , I don't think it's 'biology' that causes this. Moreso everyone believing this is the cause , or lack of will leading to eventual acceptance , and actions of that nature. Also , I could be wrong , but it seems to me for every truly independent , intelligent thinker , there are hundreds of those who adhere to either ancient ways. The less intelligent masses subversively influence others to follow in step with this. Basically similar to those classmates from long ago who you thought would do well based upon them being shunned , but end up just like those who shunned. Materialism , religion , this 'battle of the sexes' BS. Humanity evolved to its current status technologically , but mentally , there are those who believe in 'primal instinct' , primal urges , and with this mindset , they play their power games. Killing those who have no connection to them whatsoever to seem 'bigger and tougher' in the 'opponent's eyes. Just like tribes in the jungle. Yeah , we descended from apes , but there are those among us who still act like them. I read some time ago that cranial size is an indicator of intellect , not a good one , but one nonetheless. Also gait. I never gave it much thought until recent years. So far , it rings true in alot of instances. It is like those with smaller heads , and apelike gaits are more prone to tantrums of aggression , illogicality , and excess of emotion in overall analysis. If you review pictures of himanity's warmongers , religious fanatics , and basic fallacies , there is a strong correlation to the first indicator. All of them don't fit this , but alot of them do. Additionally , a lack of balance with gender roles which persists to today. Bear in mind in prehistory , males were hunters , who opt to clubbing and killing for survival. The females were caregivers and nurturers. There was no balance. Even now , that mentality persists. You have these persons who believe in destruction or persecution of the unknown(women and men) , and those who are too weakminded or complacent to realize or care what is going on(again , women and men). This in turn , has been a tantamount force in leading humanity to it's current state of disarray. Basically , what I'm attempting to say is , it's all in the mind. We must overcome the psychological barrier(if such even exists) , and practise deep , rational thought on ourselves as individuals , as well as collectively , in order to survive our infancy as a species. IMO.

Keywords being , 'IMO'.

Apparently, our biology determines how we react with the rest of society.

The individual is smart and insightful.

Humans in groups are dumb, act under peer pressure and towards social conformity.
Without great leadership, people in groups are stupid, violent, competitive and selfish. And only if those groups of people are willing to listen to their leaders.
