I know these answers are subjective.. but I'd say intercontinental ocean travel had a lot more historical impact/importance than air travel. Air travel was more a revolution of subsequent convenience
There are many important inventions. The internet is one of them, basically allowing access to information 24/7 and facilitating many activities:: work, social life, shopping, travel, job search, banking, financial transactions, etc.
The search engine would be next, allowing users to effectively and efficiently search through all
of this information.
Other important inventions: automobile, aircraft, wireless communications, cellular telephones, etc.
I'm a second half of the boom baby boomer and, in my lifetime re my use, I see the three most important inventions as being the internet (including browsers to access it), digital photography, and cell phones.
I would say the printing press, as others have stated. I think there was a show on the History Channel several years ago and their opinion was that the printing press was number one, I think.

I am gonna go with Electricity.
As without it, most any other invention would be useless, and also, its absence is the most noticeable in any civilized part of the world.

I have to agree. Without electricity, most things are useless.
All it takes is a sustained power outage, to help anyone understand just how reliant we are to electricity.
