I don't remember when and where I found out about his genius(I think it was a Science Documentary)...but I too never heard of him either in high school or university.....though I had vaguely heard of Tesla coils because of those 1970's lightning globes you could purchase.I still have a globe type and it still works!.

I love this video - particularly the quotes by Tesla. The music is good too.

A friend of mine built the largest Tesla coil in California (at the time) for one of the major Southern California theme parks. This was about 1990, and he was about 18 or 19 years old. He got the gig by bidding about 1/3 of what the next lowest bidder quoted them for the job. He wasn't in it for the money; he wanted to build a large Tesla coil and he wanted someone else to fund it.

Smartest guy I ever knew, hands down.

Three strikes etc...

Other than the lil problem with not being a lucky sperm, Tesla was THE MAN!!!

Mainstream history blows. There would have been no Revolution without Samuel Adams....another one forgotten by the mainstream historians.

Thanks for bringing some credit to Tesla.
What do you mean he wasn't even European? He was Serbian.

I read that he was Croatian. I am not very familar with that part of the planet.

Perhaps I should have said "one of the western European powers."

Not many powerful Croatians looking to pull up their peers.

I learned about Tesla in midde school, in high school my physics teacher was always taking about Tesla. I am in my 50's so maybe things have changed as far as what they teach in school science classes.
