As usual, the news media insults us and treats us like ignorant children, by failing to disclose the answers to several very obvious questions that would occur immediately to any person with a room-temperature IQ. Such as:

How much difference is there in the measured sizes of the two sides of the brain, and how much variation would normally occur?

What was the correlation between the two groups? Did every single homosexual person exhibit measurements that were incontrovertibly at odds with heterosexuals?

Were the homosexuals and heterosexuals pre-selected for the sample, or did they measure a bunch of random people and then ask them later about their sexual preference? Were any bi-sexual subjects examined?

Do news reporters have absolutely no curiosity whatsoever, or is there a plot to prevent the readers from ever finding out anything except a few pithy quotes from people with long impressive titles after their names?

Note that this is a 2008 news story.

Sometimes, more information can be found by googling, which yielded this slightly more revealing report:

Why don't you list your Academic Credentials if you wish to convince us of your expert reasoning in disputing the results!

By you describing Gay people as having a sexual preference.......we already know you know nothing about sexual ORIENTATION!

And bisexuals would surely confuse any results but any educated person would know that......so why include them??????

Are you responding to me?

I said absolutely nothing "disputing the results", because the linked article provided nothing to dispute. I said only that the news media hijacked the science, and turned it into tabloid coverage, thus hiding any science attendant to it. My criticism was directed at the news media, for "reporting" uncritically on the study, apparently by looking only at the press release, and not even making a phone call asking about the study itself or revealing any of the metrics or methodology. Any educated person would immediately see that.

I mentioned the date of the study not to question it's validity, but to question the relevance of posting this thread as though it were "new evidence".

If you have a shrill and neurotic knee-jerk response to anything that relates to homosexuality, and need to go ballistic and get all bent out of shape and foam at the mouth about it, that's your business, and you can take it up in forums that address related topics. This is the Science Forum, and this thread (and my response) relate ONLY to the science aspect of this study and I objected ONLY to the manner in which it was reported to the public.
