Question ONE Percent Of United States Coal Fired Power Plants Set To Close Because Of Pollution Costs.

I just became aware of this fact. While I am all for cleaning up our biosphere I just wonder if these old and inefficient plants that are closed will be supplanted by new Power plants before the coal power plants are taken off-line.

The 18 shuttered plants are all part of the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Because they lost a long drawn out lawsuit to NC. For decades the TVA simply hid behind "we're a government agency" and we don't have to follow pollution laws, until the courts said they did, and yet were able to stonewall for decades.
