After that price range, you get into the all-in-ones like the Canon
PowerShot Pro1, or the Minolta DiMAGE 7i. Also, you are in the range of the
DSLR cameras, in which you buy the camera body and then buy the lens
(although most [some] DSLR's come with a kit lens). At that level, most folks are into photography enough to make their own decisions.
This is just an update on wide angle lens cameras as of today. Tomorrow it
will change. Such is the nature of electronics.
