I noticed that no one has calculated how long it would take to walk up that spiral staircase?

Can it be done in one lifetime?
Danged if I know. But surely at some point, a guy would start getting lighter, and after that, he could start stepping "down" [away from the Earth] the stairs. He could then have some kind of friction gadget that slows his descent somewhat but allows him to go faster, and without using steps.
On the way "up", he could have rest stations where his oxygen can be filled, as well as concentrated food that is already mostly digested.
And in some rest stations, a small pressurized room, kind of like the little Japanese tubes that are really cheap.
If there were 238,857,000 steps normally, then the above-mentioned, the practicality of of such a walk could be greatly reduced.

It took long enough just to ride the seated elevator at the Arch in St. Louis. I'd need something that would zip right up to a landing platform.
Assuming a 6" riser, there are 264 Million steps in 25k miles up.
According to the Stairclimbing sport website, the empire state building has 1576 steps and was climbed in a world record time by a 30-39 year old male in 10 minutes and 24 seconds, or 12 minutes and 44 seconds for a woman, so if we average it to be 11 minutes and 34 seconds for unisex. Then lets half it for endurance purposes to 23 minutes 8 seconds for 1576 steps. Then the total time to climb would be 3.875 Million minutes, that's 7 years 136 days (rounding off the minutes to 4 significant figures) of just climbing. If we assume a 33% duty cycle of 8 hours a day climbing, then that's 22 years and 43 days (assuming no injuries, illnesses or anything that delays the climb).
Yes you can do it in a lifetime, it'll take between 1/3 to 1/4 of it, but it's doable.

Not sure I have that much lifetime left. If I live to be a hundred, I've already pissed away 60%.
I am pointing out the 'error' in the other post stating that the stairway would 'rise' 25,000 MILES UP! (That's what 25k is .. Is it not?)
It would only 'rise' 2 or 300 MILES at most!
