I see advantages to both men and women here.
Women - Your clothes wear out and fall apart in five years so you get your new wardrobe on a regular basis.
Men - You don't have to move some of your clothes out of the closet because she won't throw anything out. "I'll lose some weight so I can wear that again." " That will be in style at the beginning of the next millennium. I can't get rid of it!"
