Since DARPA is involved we can reasonably conclude that a lot of these neurological advancements are related to Super Soldier research.

Even if the United States and other so-called democratic countries have ethical issues with mind control technologies, they're compelled to move forward to stay competitive with the likes of Russia and China.

Talk about mind control: Chinese develop a car operated by brain waves

DARPA: Genetically Modified Humans for a Super Soldier Army
Quote:
Youíve seen it as science-fiction on TV or in the movies, but now itís science-fact. Iím talking about the Pentagonís DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) creation of a super soldier army with super human abilities achieved through genetic modification. Going on for some years, shrouded in secrecy, these mutants will make future wars totally different games.

The genetic modification of specific human genes will give these soldiers certain characteristics advantageous on the battlefield, giving rise to the most amazing abilities and performances.

Sleep Tech Will Widen the Gap Between the Rich and the Poor | Motherboard

"Itís easy to blame politicians and greedy corporations for the growing gap between the rich and poor, but some say itís actually sleep technology that will spark the class war of the future.

Some experts believe that sleep reduction gadgets will intensify the planetís income inequality problem, because only wealthy people will be able to afford them and can spend those extra waking hours working, making the rich even richer.

In the next 20 years, military leaders will unlock the secret to needing only two hours of sleep a night, using a ďcombination of devices and chemicals,Ē predicted Marcelo Rinesi of the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies. Rinesi predicts that once scientists work out the glitches and reduce negative side effects, the productivity-boosting machines will become available to civilians."

Hacking the human brain: Company unveils 'mind control' headband to help people with disabilities | Christian News on Christian Today

Quote:
When we say the word "hack," the first thing that usually comes to mind is computers.

But now the use of the word is not limited anymore to the manipulation of computer codes. Scientists have actually been trying to hack the human brain for various purposes, from offering new healthcare services to providing new ways to control technological devices.

Default The Human Brain: The real final frontier

Melbourne researchers develop a paper clip-sized mind control device that sits inside your brain - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Quote:
Yes, it sounds like something out of a bad science fiction novel ó or maybe an X-Men comic ó but it's true: people with paralysis might soon be able to use mind control to walk again.

And wait, it gets weirder: the "holy grail" device that might just herald this new wild era in biotechnology? It's the size of a paper clip, and it sits inside a blood vessel next to your brain.

It never ceases to amaze me how people who claim to follow science know next to nothing about the exponential advancements in neurology. So many I talk to still think the human brain is impossibly complex and can never be truly understood. How silly.

Over time they will unlock the secrets but at this point in time, they still have a very long way to go. There are plenty of neurolgical issues that they don't have a handle on!

Mini Brains Could Replace Lab Animals, Help Personalize Dementia Cures

Quote:
Scientists have developed Ďmini brains,í which could help researchers study common illnesses and disorders, including autism, Parkinsonís disease, multiple sclerosis or Alzheimerís, according to Thomas Hartung of Johns Hopkins Universityís Bloomberg School of Public Health, in a conversation with Radio Sputnik.

The announcement was made at the annual American Association for the Advancement of Science meeting in Washington. In a very simplified explanation, the mini brains can be considered small globules of organic matter that act like certain aspects of a human brain. Complete with electrical pulses, just like those that occur in human brains, these globules could help scientists find cures for a long list of serious diseases.
