I see there's a forum about space but no forum for "the other" deep unknown...the oceans.
I watched the doc on finding the Giant Squid last night. The one they found was missing it's two feeding arms, probably to a sperm whale. If the two longest arms had been there, this creature was approx. 65' long! Like one scientist said, "that's a lot of calamari!".
It was oddly beautiful IMO. The eye was the size of a human man's head! One thing I noticed, they kept saying the squid's "eyes", plural. Doesn't a squid have only one eye?? Or is that just an octopus?
Good thing these squid rarely come up from the depths. We'd be toast!
The other weird thing about those depths, the illumination of most creatures! What a beautiful sight.
I didn't get to view the documentary but I have read about giant squids and other possible ocean dwelling "monsters" a squid has two eyes as well as an octapus. They are beautiful creatures and I think the same thing about them coming up and gobbling us all up and eating great whites as finger food
Two eyes for both squid and octopi, huhn? Now where did I get the idea that there was only one? Too many monster movies I think. Thank you, Seeking.
Yea those monster movies always get a close up of just one eye for that chilling effect
