New coal technology harnesses energy without burning, nears pilot-scale development

Not an energy expert, but I guess this is a good thing.

They already have other plants cable of capture and how this one compares I don't know. Keep in mind it's "carbon capture and storage" that is the goal and the storage part is the bigger hurdle. Storage is forever unless there is use that can be found for it, one idea that I have read seems ideal which is to use it as feedstock for algae to produce bio fuels. Ultimately the CO2 is released when the algae fuel is burned but by recycling it from the coal into the algae you're eliminating the output from the coal.
