Back in 2010, the ideas behind a squid's sticky tendrils and Spiderman's super-strong webbing were combined to create a prototype for the first remote device able to stop vehicles in their tracks. It worked, but that technology just got better.

I guess this means law enforcement will be asking for billions more in funding.....

Why didn't "THEY" use the KISS principle and build a kill switch into every vehicle instead?

They managed to build in GPS, Bluetooth, Windows, XMRadio, statistics on where you've driven, how fast you drove, the metrics of the vehicle, monitor what your conversations are about in the car....

This should be a no-brainer....

Hmmm. I hadn't thought of that much since I have a 12 1/2 year-old car and that I'm a good driver.

Guess they have never been on an aircraft carrier...

Personally, I like the other carrier operation, where a big steam catapult would rocket the offending car into the air and then have it land in the ocean. Much more entertaining.

If I had a thousand bucks, I'd pay somebody to catapult me off of a carrier.

Give me a thousand and I'll put you in a barrel and toss you in the river above Niagara Falls.

I noticed the technology only works up to about 40mph.

Idiot a couple of weeks ago got in a chase with cops and drove all over a couple of counties. Finally t-boned a police car going about 130mph after hitting some spike strips. His five year old was on the back seat floor. A policeman moved away from the car just in time. You can sort of see him at the left of the screen.

The child survived - he didn't.
