How can a casino prove someone is counting cards? (TV, player, money)

Its not illegal to count cards, so they don't have to prove anything. But, they don't have to let you play at their establishment, so they can still kick you out if they even suspect you. You don't have any particular "right" to play at their casino...if you want you out, you get thrown out.
Back in the '70's, on the "Tomorrow" show, one night Tom Snyder had several professional gamblers and casino owners as his guests. The subject of card counting came up, and the owner of the Golden Nugget had this to say:
"We never ban card counters. For every person who can actually count cards and maybe take us for some money, there are hundreds of people who THINK they can count cards."

I think that is the reason why casinos do so well in the first place. Everyone thinks they can get an upper-hand on the house; but the game wouldn't be in the casino if the house didn't have the advantage.
I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think they have to prove anything. Since it is a private business, they can remove you from the premises whenever they like.
looking at this thread has brought up the amazement how anyone can be an addict to gambling and think they will ever come out ahead... you just look at how casinos crack down on anyone that attempts to make any sort of profit such as these people who count cards... my guess is that they catch them because in general you have to spend a LOT of time playing to generate a steady revenue so it's the time they spend there without losing money that gives them away.
Casinos get by because in the long run everyone loses. Those who have stories of winning usually put more in and they don't tell you that.
This is why I play keno with nickel and dime bets per spin.. I can make 10-20 dollars last a long time.. that same 10-20 bucks is gone in minutes on a lot of other games such as 100 round poker which is another I enjoyed.. where the casino gets you are the machines that let you bet a penny per game but there's 50 or 100 winning combinations so you end up betting that much per game effectively. So instead of losing 5-10 cents you lose 20-35 cents per spin and the money is gone that much faster.

I used to play poker as my main source of income. I do all of the math instantly, it is second nature. In a 12+ hour session you see MANY people come and go.. most don't know a thing about the game and they think they are pros.
Put me on a black jack table? Sure, I can count cards, but nowhere near what it takes to be profitable.. so I stay away. However, many people think just because they read a 20 minute article or watched the movie 21 that they can count cards and actually be profitable. I would bet that less than 1% of black jack players could make a real profit over 2 years time.
