If aliens did it, I'm waiting for the discovery of a massive stone Rubik's cube.

What amazes me is the mathematic exactitude of the finished structure - still valid many centuries later.

How many hours, days, years and so on of dedicated study did to take to figure out the movement of the sun and stars like that?

Some new and interesting info about the bluestones. The exact source of the bluestone rocks has been identified at Carn Goedog in Wales, located about 140 miles (225km) from Stonehenge. The raft-theory of transportation is unlikely. The prevailing thought is that the stones were probably carried by the retreat of glacial ice sheets and deposited in the plains which seems most likely. However, it's possible the stones might have worked by Neolithic humans, but conclusive evidence for that remains unknown.

Throughout history, we have used nonsense to explain things we cannot understand. Some people don't know any better than to believe the nonsense that others make up.

Sure, why not?

I'm sure that once humanity finally builds a nuclear-pulse rocket or an interstellar ramjet or some other appropriate propulsion system suitable for such a mission, and then makes its first voyage to some planet in orbit around Alpha Centauri B, crudely piling roughly-hewn rocks will be on the agenda in order to impress the Neolithic-equivalent locals.

Well, either that or one study is incorrect* and/or the we're underestimating the capabilities of the stone-/bronze-age inhabitants of the British Isles.

Gee, I wonder which it could be?

In related news:

* - One study. Invariably, people read one study and immediately presume there is some monolith called science that universally agrees with that one study, when in almost every case nothing of the sort is true.

Because after all, it was all a prank by the Aliens to see if they could make these earthlings do something stupid. In exchange they probably taught them how to play soccer and then left and flew to Peru.
why would they need us to build Stonehenge to do something stupid we do stupid human things all the time they just would of had to wait and I am sure we would of done something stupid since we are only human and we do some things that for a species that thinks it is so smart we do some really dumb stuff and then we forget about it and end up doing the same mistake again.

But as you see humans have comer along way from figuring out how to move the stones to for a time having the the smartest people invent things that had not even existed to solve problems both the Soviet and American space programs faced in the early days and for us to build the most powerful machine we ever created by us earthlings.

So us figuring out how to move the stones and align them was something that we learned and lost the way they did it but we are coming slowly to returned the ball or scare the Reece's pieces out of E.T. when we arrive at the edge of a their solar system and they forgot about us did not think we would make it and would still do some stupid things in the future if we do make it.

Leave a DVD Box set of ancient aliens TV show let the aliens figure what we left them since that will confuse them for a while and they would spend a lot of time trying to figure out the meaning behind it all and create some out their ideas on the meaning of it all and what we are tying to say and really confuse them.

Just looking at the hilarious things written about the creation of this pile of rocks:

BTW, in this article it also points out that the pile of rocks aligns with ancient Woolworths stores.
